About IODA

IODA is an international network of organization development professionals, consultants, educators and social scientists. This non-profit organization has members from over 40 countries that initiate and support organizational change processes around the world. IODA is dedicated to supporting and strengthening OD principles and practices at the international level through research, academic OD programs, peer mentoring and coaching, networking and sharing of knowledge, international projects, and cultural interchange.

IODA's vision is to be a vibrant, cross-cultural community of OD professionals committed to the growth of OD practices around the world. Our mission is to offer members the opportunity to share with one another their accumulated experience, knowledge and skills.

IODA holds an annual conference as a means of forwarding this mission. The annual conference rotates from continent to continent and country to country. This ensures that the vast diversity of the organization is honored.

FOR THE BEST CONTRIBUTION IN FURTHERING IODA'S MISSION

The development of institutions is human work. With this principle, IODA began with members in 13 countries. Today we have members in about 50 countries. Under the quiet and efficient work of thousands of consultants, IODA influences global issues with values, peace, democracy, and efficiency in worldwide institutions that construct the future of continents.

Call for nominations for The Richard Beckhard Award 2007 for the best contribution in furthering IODA'S mission:

The nomination process for the 2007 RB Award is open. The award will be presented at the XXII IODA Worldwide Conference in Canada in August 2007.


The award will be given to the Best Contributor in furthering IODA'S mission based on the following criteria:

  1. Outstanding work and effort in promoting IODA's vision, mission, philosophy and practice at the international level.
  2. Significantly strengthening IODA's network.
  3. Outstanding contribution, for at least 3 years, to building IODA's institutional foundation and mode of operation.
  4. Outstanding management of IODA's annual conference.
  5. Initiating and conducting social activities impacting the cohesiveness of IODA.
  6. Spotless professional, ethical and professional reputation.


Previous recipients of this award include: K.C. Soares (2005) and Marvin Egberts (2001)

Process of selection 2007:

March, April and May ............. Nomination of candidates
June and July ............. Work of the Committee and selection of the winner
August: First two weeks ............. Decision of the Executive Committee of IODA
August: Last weeks ............. Granting of the Prize: XXII Congress of Canada

NB: The nomination and selection process is confidential. Sponsors of nominations are requested not to communicate nominations to the nominees. The committee will only mention the name of the selected candidate to the Executive committee. Other names will remain strictly confidential within the committee.
