The geography of Canada is extremely diverse with landscapes ranging across deserts, rainforests, prairies, island fiords, and tundra. No matter which geography they inhabit, most Canadians are intensely proud of their land and its natural beauty. The population of Canada in 2006 reached over 32 million people. Canada has 2 official languages: English and French. In the eastern province of Quebec most Canadians speak French as their first language. Many other communities across Canada also speak French and Canadian school children all learn to speak French.
